McCormick Signs Entry-Level Contract with Ottawa

Almost two months after Hobey Baker finalist Ryan Dzingel decided to forgo his senior season, Max McCormick has followed in the footsteps of his classmate and signed an entry-level contract with the NHL's Ottawa Senators today.


McCormick was taken by the Senators with the 171st overall pick in the sixth-round of the 2011 NHL Draft.


The De Pere, WI native established career highs in assists (24) and points (35) last season for the Buckeyes.


His 35 points had him second on the team and tied for fifth in the Big Ten Conference. He appeared in all 37 games last year for Ohio State.


McCormick finishes his career with the Scarlet and Gray with 36 goals and 52 assists in 108 games played.
