Danielle Sadek – Defenseman, Lakeville North High School (MN)

Although she may not have a 'c' in her name, Danielle Sadek wore the 'C' on her jersey last season as a proud member of Lakeville North High School in Lakeville, MN.

It was through her fine leadership that the Panthers were able to manufacture their fourth consecutive 20-win season, as well as their third conference title in a row.

Dani is one of the incoming defenseman will help fill the hole left by outstanding defenseman Annie Svedin, who graduated following the conclusion of last season.

games during the 2014 Minnesota State
Tournament

Much like a couple of overprotective parents with a teenage daughter, no one is scoring on Sadek's watch.

With Dani at the helm of the Lakeville blueliners, the Panthers gave up less than a goal a game and had 13 shutouts last season.

Another valuable trait that Sadek brings to the table is her offensive abilities.

Dani finished fourth on the team in points with 9 goals and 32 assists for a total of 41 points. All categories were tops for Lakeville defensemen.

Now Nate Handrahan already has a pair of defenseman in Kari and Sara Schmitt that are pretty offensively talented. Sadek just adds to the firepower that is being brought in from the forward and defense position in this year's freshman class.

Last year, the Buckeyes ranked 15th in the country in goals against average (2.43).

Where they lacked offensively at times, the defense was more than rock solid.

I can only offer this advice to opposing teams.

Good luck scoring when Sadek is on the ice, because you're going to get shut down harder than the U.S. government.

Normally we feature a video on our weekly Spotlights. This week, we're going with an interesting tweet....

Don't worry Dani. HNIC is shaking its head as well.
